ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has stated that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s brief but highly important official visit to Iran has concluded, with encouraging progress made toward a final understanding following extensive discussions over the past 24 hours.

According to ISPR, the Field Marshal was received upon arrival in Tehran by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni along with senior civil and military officials.

During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir held key meetings with Iran’s top leadership. These discussions focused on reducing regional tensions and advancing ongoing mediation efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region. The ISPR described these engagements as part of broader diplomatic and facilitation efforts.

The Field Marshal met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. All meetings were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, contributing to the advancement of the mediation process.

ISPR further stated that the discussions played an important role in moving the reconciliation process forward, adding that over the past 24 hours, in-depth talks resulted in encouraging progress toward a final understanding.

The purpose of these engagements, according to ISPR, is to ensure continued de-escalation following the April 8 ceasefire and to strengthen constructive regional engagement.

It also noted that the Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s sincere and constructive role in promoting peaceful resolution of regional issues and supporting dialogue-based diplomacy.
