Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has sought a foolproof plan for the provision of clean water across the province within five days.

Chairing a meeting of Punjab Saaf Pani Authority in Lahore on Friday, Maryam Nawaz directed like Suthra Punjab, the Saaf Pani Authority Punjab should be restructured and upgraded on modern lines.

Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority will be fully empowered technically and administratively.

The Saaf Pani Authority will be provided with modern technology, human resources, and transport, Maryam Nawaz added.

She said RO plants and modern filtration technology will be installed according to regional needs.

The meeting discussed that plant ID, operator name, phone number, and working hours will be recorded on filtration plants and RO plants in the province.

The meeting agreed to hire the services of an international consultancy for the provision of clean drinking water across Punjab.

Latest Japanese and Chinese technology will be introduced for the provision of clean water.

Chief Minister ordered to expedite measures to provide clean drinking water to citizens across Punjab.

Clean water supply has begun through mobile bottling plants for remote areas and more than 2,400 families are benefiting daily from active bottling plants in remote areas, the meeting was informed.

All trucks and plants of the Saaf Pani Authority will be monitored.

Maryam Nawaz ordered to ensure repair and maintenance of all 5,734 water filtration plants and instructed to install more plants as required.

The scope of the Punjab Clean Water Authority will be extended to all districts and tehsils of the province.

The Punjab Saaf Pani Authority will be made active and organized on the model of Suthra Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said.

The Saaf Pani Project is very close to my heart, laziness or negligence will not be tolerated, Maryam Nawaz warned.

She said along with development projects, providing clean water to citizens is the most important priority.
