DADU: Residents of Nabi Bakhsh Solangi village, within the jurisdiction of Jhalo Police Station in Dadu district, including men and women, staged a protest against what they described as alleged excesses by members of the Bhand community. The protesters held copies of the Holy Quran in their hands and appealed to the authorities for justice.

The protesters alleged that certain individuals forcibly entered their homes, took away their livestock and vandalized household belongings.

Speaking to the media, protesters Shabeer Solangi, Moharram Solangi and others said that their brother, Gulsher Solangi, is involved in the livestock business and allegedly deals in interest-based loans, but the other members of their family have no connection with his financial dealings. Despite this, they alleged that Maqsood Bhand, Naveed Bhand, Murtaza Bhand, Mujahid Bhand and Maqsood’s sons forcibly entered their homes and took away 16 cattle, while also damaging household items.

The protesters further alleged that Naveed Bhand allegedly shot himself in the leg and subsequently gathered a large number of people, abducted Sono Solangi and issued threats that they would take away more livestock from their village.

According to the protesters, following the incident, members of the Bhand community allegedly lodged a false case against them, resulting in the arrest of three of their men—Zahid Solangi, Hakim Solangi and Mashooq Solangi—by the police.

The protesters appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hyderabad, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dadu and other relevant authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident, recover the alleged 16 stolen cattle, take legal action against those allegedly involved in vandalism and threats, and ensure justice regarding the arrest of their three men.
