Karachi: Medicine Shortage Hits Jinnah Hospital, Multiple Surgeries Postponed

Karachi (Thursday, July 3, 2025) – A severe shortage of life-saving medicines has emerged at Jinnah Hospital, leading to the postponement of several surgical operations.
According to hospital sources, the hospital has run out of essential injections and Vitamin K required for endoscopy, and even insulin syringes and cannulas are no longer available. Sources further revealed that due to the unavailability of these critical injections, many surgeries have had to be postponed.
On the other hand, the hospital administration has claimed that no surgeries have been postponed and that medicines are available. However, they admitted that the supply of additional medicines will only be possible after the release of the new fiscal year’s budget.
