The attack, described as a premeditated assault by certain malevolent elements, took place at Asi Badr Channa’s home, leaving him and his children seriously injured. Speaking at the protest, Channa appealed for justice, stating that despite providing medical certificates to the Dadu police, he had received no cooperation or support from the authorities.

“I am a law-abiding citizen, yet I was attacked in my own home. My children and I suffered serious injuries. Even after submitting medical certificates to the police, no one has taken action against the attackers. I fear for my safety and seek protection from the Inspector General of Sindh, the DIG Hyderabad, the SSP Dadu, and other senior authorities. Literary community members called upon the local authorities to ensure the safety of citizens, particularly those who contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of the region. Participants emphasized that attacks on poets and writers are attacks on freedom of expression and the social fabric itself.

The Sindhi Adabi Sangat also condemned the inaction of law enforcement agencies in the aftermath of the incident. Protesters pointed out that the lack of immediate response by the police and other authorities reflects negligence and undermines public trust in law enforcement. The literary community demanded swift legal action and accountability for those responsible for the attack.
