Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Indian-administered Kashmir and senior leader of the National Conference, narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt.

According to media reports, Farooq Abdullah was attending a wedding when an individual fired a pistol at him from very close range. Security personnel acted swiftly and prevented the attacker from harming him.

The suspect was captured and arrested, and fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The identity of the attacker has not been disclosed.

Omar Abdullah, the current Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed gratitude to God for saving his father’s life.
