On the special directives of the Power Division and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SEPCO, a grand and effective anti-electricity theft operation was launched in Sub Division Three Sukkur. The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of SDO Nisar Ahmed Sheikh, Chairman Abdul Malik Soomro, and XEN Sukkur City, ensuring strict implementation of the campaign against power theft.The operation team comprising Irshad Mughal, Farhan Mako, Manwar Zaman, Maqsood Bhatti, Khadim Katpar, Barkat Mahar, Raja Rastro, Noor Din Soomro, and Owais Qureshi carried out targeted actions in various localities including Achhar Ghitti, Barrage Road, Reti Line, and Workshop Road.During the large-scale operation, dozens of illegal electricity connections were disconnected, and several “Kunda” connections were identified and removed. The wires used for power theft were burnt on the spot to prevent further misuse. SEPCO officials confirmed that legal action has been initiated against those involved in electricity theft.
Speaking to media representatives, SDO Nisar Ahmed Sheikh said that electricity theft is a national crime that causes serious damage to the public treasury. He asserted that no leniency would be granted to violators.He further added that, in accordance with the directives of the Power Division and CEO SEPCO, such operations will continue daily to ensure a safe, efficient, and theft-free power supply system across Sukkur.
Meanwhile, Chairman Abdul Malik Soomro reiterated SEPCO’s commitment to strict enforcement, stating that the department would take decisive action against power thieves and continue vigilant monitoring in high-loss areas to improve electricity distribution and public service reliability.
