Pakistan has successfully launched its Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3) into space, marking a significant milestone in the country’s space technology and Earth observation capabilities.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the satellite was launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in China. The mission was conducted in collaboration with China, highlighting continued cooperation between the two countries in the field of space technology.

ISPR stated that the launch of the locally developed EO-3 satellite represents another major step toward technological self-reliance and advancement in Pakistan’s space program. The achievement is being described as an important milestone in the country’s journey toward modern scientific capability.

The EO-3 satellite is designed to provide advanced imaging data that will support multiple national sectors. It is expected to play a key role in urban planning, disaster management, agriculture monitoring, food security, and environmental protection.

Officials said the satellite will help improve decision-making by providing high-quality Earth observation data, enabling better response to natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and other emergencies. It will also assist in monitoring crop conditions and environmental changes.

ISPR further noted that the successful deployment of EO-3 will contribute to building an integrated Earth observation system for Pakistan. This system is expected to support long-term sustainable socio-economic development and strengthen national planning capabilities.

The launch was officially announced by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), which termed it a historic achievement for the country’s space program.

Prime Minister also appreciated the efforts of SUPARCO engineers and scientists, praising their professionalism and dedication. He acknowledged China’s continued support as a long-standing and reliable partner in Pakistan’s space exploration efforts.
