Old man dies of heart attack during clash at AJK polling station
An old man breathed his last during a clash that erupted at a polling station in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday.
According to details, the man, who was later identified as Mohammad Siddique, tried to save his son during a clash between rival political workers at a polling station, during which he suffered a severe heart attack.
He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital but could not made it.
Earlier, the voting began in the third phase of general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) covering four constituencies in Poonch Division’s Bagh and Haveli Kahuta districts. People started casting their votes at 08:00 am and will continue until 05:00 pm.
An additional 10,300 security personnel besides regular police were deployed in the four constituencies of the two districts where most of the 803 polling stations have been classified either sensitive or highly sensitive.
