Quetta witnessed a significant counter-terrorism development as security forces carried out a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the suburban area of Gaza Band, resulting in the elimination of 10 terrorists allegedly linked with Indian-sponsored networks.

According to security sources, the operation was launched after actionable intelligence indicated the presence of a terrorist hideout in the area. As forces moved in, they came under heavy fire, triggering a fierce gun battle. During the exchange of fire, ten terrorists were neutralized while two security personnel sustained injuries.

Sources confirmed that the terrorists were involved in subversive activities and plotting attacks aimed at destabilizing the region. They also revealed that the group was receiving backing and instructions from handlers across the border. The recovered cache included a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, suggesting that the militants were preparing for a major terror strike.

The operation has been hailed as a major success in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Balochistan. Security officials stated that intelligence-driven actions will continue with full momentum to ensure peace and stability in the province.

The incident underscores the persistent threat posed by externally sponsored terror groups, even as Pakistan’s security forces intensify their nationwide counter-terrorism efforts under coordinated campaigns.
