The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) has announced a complete strike by lawyers across the Faisalabad Division on August 11 in protest against the registration of a case against lawyer Waseem Abbas Baloch and others.

According to the Punjab Bar Council, lawyers in the division will not appear before courts on Tuesday as part of the protest.

The council strongly condemned the registration of Case No. 676/26, describing the police action as unilateral and unacceptable.

The Punjab Bar Council also expressed serious concern over what it termed the alleged biased conduct of the DSP Circle Tandlianwala, saying attempts to pressure or harass members of the legal fraternity would not be tolerated.

A condemnation resolution regarding the case was also passed by the council.

The council demanded an immediate, transparent and impartial review of Case No. 676/26 and called for the immediate dismissal of what it described as a baseless case against the lawyers.

The Punjab Bar Council further demanded the immediate transfer of the DSP Circle Tandlianwala and urged Inspector General Punjab and Regional Police Officer Faisalabad to take notice of the matter.

The council maintained that any unilateral police action against lawyers was unacceptable and called for the matter to be resolved through a fair and transparent process.

The complete strike will be observed across the Faisalabad Division on August 11, with lawyers refraining from court appearances in support of the council’s demands.
