Peshawar: As the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa approach on July 21, PTI’s female leader Mishal Yousafzai has actively begun pursuing a party ticket.

According to sources, Mishal Yousafzai has started reaching out to party leadership for a Senate ticket and has contacted PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar via phone, expressing her desire to contest the elections.

Mishal claims she was instructed by the PTI founder to submit her nomination papers. The message, according to her, was conveyed during a family meeting with Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail.

During the call, Barrister Gohar reportedly told Mishal, “Submit your papers, we’ll see from there.”

Sources further say that Mishal has also reached out to senior party figures, including Atif Khan, regarding the Senate ticket. However, she has refrained from publicly commenting on the matter.

Speaking to Geo News, Barrister Gohar confirmed that Mishal did contact him but clarified that he has received no direct instructions from the PTI founder to issue a Senate ticket to any individual. He added that he is reviewing the matter and a final decision will be made later.

It’s worth noting that Senate elections for 11 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are scheduled to be held on July 21.
