Badin: Acting on the directives of the Chief Secretary of Sindh, a crucial meeting on dengue prevention and control measures was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Badin, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Yasir Bhatti. The meeting focused on strategies to contain the spread of dengue and to ensure immediate response mechanisms across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Kashif Raza Mangi, all Assistant Commissioners, District Health Officer Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Abbasi, District Malaria Focal Person Dr. Salahuddin, Chief Municipal Officers, Town Officers, and representatives from various departments.

During the session, DC Yasir Bhatti announced that a 24-hour active Dengue Control Room had been established at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Badin, for timely reporting and rapid response to dengue cases. The control room’s contact number is 0297-920022. He also directed the District Health Officer to set up a similar 24/7 control room within the Health Department to ensure real-time monitoring and swift action.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all Chief Municipal and Town Officers to conduct regular fumigation drives in both urban and rural areas and to identify potential mosquito breeding hotspots, particularly where stagnant water accumulates. He further directed all Assistant Commissioners to personally visit hospitals and dengue wards, inspect treatment arrangements, and oversee ongoing fumigation activities.
