Sukkur: The Sukkur Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Azhar Khan, have launched a large-scale crackdown following the targeted killing of three individuals in the jurisdiction of Saleh Pat police station. SSP Sukkur personally visited the crime scene, took strong notice of the incident, and assured the victims’ families and the public that the perpetrators would be apprehended soon and brought to justice.

Details of the Incident

According to the initial police investigation, the tragic event occurred in Deenpur Tharri, an area falling under the jurisdiction of Saleh Pat police station. Three men—later identified as Hameedullah Buleedi, Nawab Buleedi, and Ghulam Shabbir Jagirani—were gunned down in a targeted assault. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire, killing the victims instantly before fleeing the scene.

Preliminary findings suggest that the motive behind the crime was linked to an old dispute and allegations of karo-kari (honor-related accusations). Police sources confirmed that the victims had come to Sukkur from Punjab to attend a family-related matter. Their presence in the city provided the attackers an opportunity to settle personal scores by executing the murders in a pre-planned manner.

SSP Sukkur’s Immediate Action

SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan wasted no time in taking strict notice of the killings. Upon receiving reports of the incident, he immediately reached the crime site, examined the location, reviewed evidence, and held discussions with the investigating officers. His instructions to the police teams were clear: the culprits must be identified, tracked down, and arrested without delay.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Khan said:

“The brutal murder of Hameedullah, Nawab, and Ghulam Shabbir is a grave crime. The killers will not escape justice. Sukkur police will ensure their arrest at the earliest and see that they are brought before the courts. No one will be allowed to disturb the peace or exploit outdated customs such as karo-kari to justify violence.”

Police Response and Manhunt

In response to the killings, Sukkur Police launched an intensive search operation across the district. Roadblocks and checkpoints have been established at strategic points, while patrols are actively monitoring entry and exit routes in Saleh Pat and surrounding areas. The police have also imposed blockades across different towns and villages in Sukkur district to restrict the suspects’ movement.

Additionally, special intelligence units have been tasked with gathering information on the suspects’ possible hideouts and affiliations. Raids are underway at multiple locations, and the police are working in coordination with law enforcement agencies in neighboring districts to prevent the perpetrators from crossing into other regions.
