An operation was carried out to remove illegal occupations from Forest Department lands as per court orders.

It has been revealed that those involved in the encroachments have filed a fake FIR against Range Forest Officer Shehzado Sarohi and Forester Liaquat Chachar, accusing them of theft at the police station.

Officers and employees of the sub-department named in the FIR have appealed to the honorable court and relevant authorities to dismiss the false case and to take legal action against the individuals responsible.

In this regard, Range Officer Shehzado Sarohi and Forester Liaquat Ali Chachar stated that during their duty in the forest department in the riverine (katcha) area of Pano Aqil, they acted upon the Supreme Court’s orders to vacate illegal occupations made by individuals from the Chachar and Kalhoro communities, who had created fake land records to claim forest land.

After they were posted to Rohri, one of the encroachers, Mansoor (son of Khair Muhammad Kalhoro), filed a case at the Sidhuja Police Station on June 20, 2025, accusing them of stealing Rs. 18,000 and mobile phones. This case appears to be an attempt to obstruct the process of reclaiming government land.

Divisional Forest Officer Sukkur, Ziyadullah Laghari, has appealed to the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Government of Sindh, Sessions Judge, Additional Sessions Judge of Sukkur Rohri, SSP Sukkur, and other relevant officials to dismiss the false theft case against forest department employees. He has requested legal action against the culprits and protection for the forest officers and staff so that they can continue to act on court orders and vacate government lands from illegal occupiers.
