Islamabad: Pakistan has reiterated its strong support for ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in Yemen, particularly welcoming the diplomatic initiatives led by Saudi Arabia and supported by the United Arab Emirates. Emphasizing the need for a negotiated and inclusive political settlement, Pakistan has urged all Yemeni parties to engage in constructive dialogue with sincerity and good faith.

In an official statement, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan is closely monitoring recent developments in the Republic of Yemen. The spokesperson underlined that Islamabad remains deeply concerned about the prolonged conflict in Yemen and its severe humanitarian consequences, which have caused immense suffering to the Yemeni population over the past several years.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan fully supports the diplomatic efforts undertaken by Saudi Arabia to establish lasting peace and stability in Yemen. These efforts, the spokesperson noted, are vital for de-escalation, reconciliation, and the creation of conditions conducive to a sustainable political process. Pakistan also appreciated and acknowledged the constructive role being played by the United Arab Emirates in facilitating peace and supporting stability-oriented initiatives in the country.

The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan believes there is no military solution to the Yemen conflict and that only a comprehensive, inclusive, and negotiated political settlement can bring lasting peace. “Pakistan urges all parties to engage in dialogue in a constructive manner and with genuine intent, aimed at achieving a comprehensive, negotiated political solution,” the statement said.

Reaffirming its principled position, Pakistan stressed the importance of respecting Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The Foreign Office spokesperson said that any efforts to resolve the conflict must be grounded in full respect for Yemen’s internationally recognized borders and national cohesion. Pakistan also cautioned against unilateral actions by any party that could further escalate tensions or undermine ongoing diplomatic initiatives.

“Pakistan hopes that Yemeni parties will refrain from any unilateral measures that could aggravate the situation or derail the peace process,” the spokesperson added. Such actions, the statement warned, could reverse fragile gains made through diplomacy and prolong instability in the region.

Pakistan expressed optimism that the current diplomatic momentum, driven by regional stakeholders and supported by the international community, would translate into concrete steps toward achieving durable peace in Yemen. The Foreign Office noted that sustained engagement, patience, and compromise from all sides are essential to move the peace process forward.

The statement also highlighted Pakistan’s concern for the humanitarian situation in Yemen, which remains one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Millions of Yemenis continue to face food insecurity, displacement, and limited access to basic services such as healthcare and clean water. Pakistan said it hopes that progress in the peace process will lead to an improvement in humanitarian conditions and help alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

“Pakistan remains hopeful that ongoing diplomatic efforts will pave the way for lasting peace in Yemen and contribute to easing the hardships faced by the Yemeni population,” the spokesperson said.

Pakistan has consistently advocated peaceful conflict resolution and dialogue in regional and international disputes. Its support for Saudi and UAE-led efforts in Yemen aligns with its broader foreign policy approach of promoting stability, regional cooperation, and diplomatic solutions, particularly in the Middle East.

Analysts note that Pakistan’s statement reflects its balanced stance, combining support for key regional partners with a clear call for inclusivity and political dialogue among Yemeni stakeholders. By emphasizing respect for Yemen’s unity and warning against unilateral actions, Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to principles of sovereignty and peaceful coexistence.

As the situation in Yemen continues to evolve, Pakistan has reaffirmed its readiness to support international and regional initiatives that aim to bring an end to the conflict through peaceful means. The Foreign Office stressed that durable peace in Yemen would not only benefit the Yemeni people but also contribute to broader regional stability and security.

In conclusion, Pakistan’s endorsement of Saudi and Emirati diplomatic efforts, coupled with its call for constructive dialogue and negotiated political solutions, underscores its hope that Yemen can move toward reconciliation, stability, and long-term peace after years of devastating conflict.
