New Iron Market Association Formed in Sukkur to Protect Traders’ Rights

SUKKUR
A new chapter of unity and leadership has begun for the business community in Sukkur as traders of the Iron Market in Golimar have formed the New Iron Market Association Sukkur to safeguard their rights and address long-standing grievances.

During a press conference, newly elected President Khurshid Ahmed Mirani announced that the association was established after the majority of traders expressed no confidence in the previous body, which had held positions for the past 25 years without delivering tangible results. “The traders have placed their trust in us, and that trust is our true victory,” Mirani said. “We will not take a single step back when it comes to protecting the rights of our traders and shopkeepers.”

The traders’ community, expressing frustration over years of neglect, decided through a majority vote and unanimous consensus to dissolve the old association and form a new representative platform. The New Iron Market Association Golimar Sukkur elected Khurshid Ahmed Mirani as President, Sarfaraz Chauhan, Muhammad Hussain Memon, and Muhammad Shehzad Marfani as Vice Presidents, Muhammad Asif Memon as General Secretary, Shahnawaz Abro as Joint Secretary, Hamid Raza Marfani as Treasurer, and Mahesh Kumar as Information Secretary.

Mirani emphasized that 60 percent of the traders supported the formation of the new association, while another 15 percent have shown willingness to join soon. “This overwhelming support proves that the business community wants change and accountability,” he remarked. “Our mission is to provide a strong, transparent, and service-oriented leadership that genuinely addresses the traders’ problems.”

He also highlighted the major issues facing the Iron Market, including poor infrastructure, sanitation problems, and rising incidents of theft and insecurity. Mirani revealed that he and his team had already met with senior police officials to convey the traders’ concerns. “The police have assured us that security patrols in the market will be increased to ensure safety and peace,” he added.

The president further stated that the new association’s focus would be on restoring confidence among traders, improving communication with local authorities, and ensuring that municipal and developmental issues are resolved promptly. “We will make sure that the traders’ voices are heard at every relevant forum,” he said.

The announcement of the new association was met with enthusiasm and celebration in the market. Members of the trading community garlanded Khurshid Ahmed Mirani and other elected office bearers with flowers, congratulating them on their new roles and expressing hope for a brighter future for the Iron Market.
