Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said more people will participate in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march on October 4 than were expected to join the planned September 27 protest.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Afridi warned that any attempt to create an “adventure” or deliberately worsen the country’s situation would draw a public response.

He said the march would initially move towards Swabi before proceeding further.

Afridi said a list of senior leaders responsible for guiding the workers would be issued two days before the march.

He added that a complete chain of command would be put in place so that another leader could take responsibility if any leader was unavailable.

The chief minister said workers would be expected to follow the instructions of the designated leadership during the march.

He also said former KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur remained determined and that he would lead the march alongside him.
