Maulana Fazlur Rehman is on a fake mandate, and yet he lectures us — KPK CM Ali Amin Gandapur / Screengrab

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly criticized JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, suggesting that instead of seeking political change in KPK, the Maulana should bring about change within himself.

Speaking to PTI leaders at a farmhouse on Raiwind Road in Lahore, Gandapur said,

“We are now moving beyond consultation and taking practical steps. Today, we are launching our movement from Lahore, and every movement that starts from Lahore ends up succeeding nationwide.”

He added that PTI’s leader is wrongfully imprisoned without any legal case, and their strategy must now align with the realities of Pakistan. He stressed that the campaign must peak by August 5, and serious thought is needed on how to achieve that.

“It’s unfair to compare Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he remarked.

Gandapur also claimed that Yasir Gillani and other detained party workers have been released, and criticized the suspension of Punjab Assembly members, calling it lawlessness.

“If this continues, I will dismiss their chairmen in KP in response,” he warned.

Referring to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Gandapur said:

“Only one MNA and two MPAs from his party are on merit — the rest got in through Form 47. Maulana himself is sitting on a fake mandate. The public has rejected him.”

He further added:

“If Maulana really wants change, he should start with himself. He misled the public, and that’s why he lost in his own constituency.”

Gandapur concluded by saying:

“I will thank the Punjab government only when they grant us the constitutional right to hold a public gathering in Lahore. And if they do, I won’t just say thank you — I’ll also give them a gift.”

This comes after Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in a press conference in Peshawar, said that if change is needed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it should come from within PTI.
