Sukkur (Bureau Report):
A strong protest was held by the Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union (CBA) against the brutal murder of Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) Sub-Division One’s Line Superintendent Faheem Ahmed Samejo. The demonstration took place in front of the Sub-Division One office, led by Shuja Ahmed Ghumro, and was attended by a large number of WAPDA employees.

The protest saw participation from SDO Nawaz Sharif, SDO Ejaz Abbasi, SDO Muhammad Umar, and other officers and workers. Protesters carried banners and placards, chanted slogans, and reiterated their demand for the immediate arrest of the culprits.

Speaking to the media during the protest, the union leaders stated that Faheem Ahmed Samejo was murdered while on duty—an extremely tragic and disturbing incident for the entire WAPDA workforce. They criticized the A-Section Police in Sukkur for failing to take the incident seriously, as no arrests have yet been made. The leaders alleged that the murderers enjoy political backing, which allows them to roam freely without fear of the law, posing a grave threat to the justice system.

The leaders warned that if Faheem Samejo’s killers are not promptly arrested and brought to justice, serious consideration is being given to suspending power supply not only in Sukkur Region but across Larkana Region and all other sub-divisions. They further stated that WAPDA workers are now sacrificing their blood, and the indifference of the government and police has become intolerable.

Shuja Ahmed Ghumro demanded the government immediately legislate measures to ensure the safety of WAPDA employees, to prevent such incidents in the future.

The leaders made it clear that if the killers of martyr Faheem Samejo are not arrested soon, the WAPDA Union will expand its protest to the national level and take strict actions.
