Dozens of people were killed in a fire that broke out at a bar in a ski resort town in Switzerland.

According to foreign media, the fire occurred on New Year’s night at a bar in a Swiss ski resort town, resulting in the deaths of 47 people.

Media reports said that 115 people were also injured in the incident and are being provided with immediate medical treatment.

Further details indicate that the accident took place during New Year celebrations. Swiss authorities said that foreign nationals are among the victims. In this regard, the French Foreign Ministry stated that eight of its citizens are missing following the incident.

According to media reports, the fire was caused by a waiter’s mistake, and it spread rapidly due to the wooden flooring.

Media reports also said that the Swiss President has announced that flags will be flown at half-mast in the city of Bern for five days.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over the loss of lives in the bar fire incident and said that Pakistan stands with the Swiss government and the people of Switzerland in this difficult time.
