Alert Issued for Heavy Rains and Flooding Across the Country Until July 10
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for heavy rainfall and possible flooding across the country until July 10.
According to the NDMA, there is a risk of flooding in rivers and streams in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
There is a possibility of low-level flooding at the Marala and Qadirabad points of the Chenab River. Increased water flow is expected in the Kabul, Indus, Chenab, Swat, Panjkora, Chitral, Hunza rivers, and other streams.
Flooding is feared in northeastern Punjab, southern Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir. There is also a risk of flash floods in the streams originating from the Pir Panjal mountain range in northeastern Punjab.
According to the NDMA, there is a risk of flooding in the Jhelum River and its tributaries in Azad Kashmir, while rising water levels are expected in the Hunza River and streams in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Additionally, there is a danger of flooding in the streams originating from the Kirthar Range in southern Balochistan, and flood conditions may develop in Awaran, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Qila Saifullah, and Musakhel.
