Shikarpur: A powerful explosion on the railway track near Sultan Kot village caused four carriages of the Jaffar Express to derail, leaving four passengers injured.

According to police, the blast struck the railway line as the Quetta-bound train was passing through the area. Rescue teams and police personnel reached the scene immediately, and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

A Bomb Disposal Squad has been called to examine the site and collect forensic evidence to determine the nature of the explosion. Following the incident, railway traffic on the affected route has been temporarily suspended, and arrangements are being made to transport stranded passengers by buses.

Divisional Superintendent of Railways confirmed that repair work on the damaged track is underway and may take eight to ten hours to complete. No train movement is expected on the line before 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and directed SSP Shikarpur to initiate an immediate investigation, emphasizing that those responsible for sabotaging the railway track must be apprehended at the earliest.
