April’s Pink Moon: A Spring Spectacle Not To Miss!

NEW YORK: 10.04.2025: The Pink Moon, marking the first full moon of spring, will rise on Friday, April 12, 2025, providing a stunning view across North America and beyond. Despite its name, the moon won’t appear pink but is named after pink phlox flowers that bloom in early spring.

The full moon reaches its peak at 8:23 p.m. EDT on April 12, with the best time to view it just after sunset, during the “moon illusion” when it appears larger and more vibrant. In North America, the moon will rise near sunset, with New York’s moonrise at 7:31 p.m. EDT, and Los Angeles at 7:26 p.m. PDT.In Pakistan, the Pink Moon will rise on April 13 at 9:08 p.m. UTC in Karachi and be visible throughout the night. This full moon is also the “Paschal Moon,” marking Easter’s date, which falls on April 20 this year.
