Sanghar

Sindhi Culture Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional spirit at the Government Primary School Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi, Shaheedapur, along with the Government Boys Elementary Lower Secondary School, Sanghar. The event reflected a beautiful blend of cultural pride, educational awareness, and emotional moments as teachers and students came together to honor Sindh’s rich heritage and bid farewell to respected educators.

The celebration coincided with a farewell ceremony organized in honor of senior teachers Ghulam Mustafa Umrani and Muhammad Arif Sheikh on the occasion of their transfer. The farewell was arranged in a unique and heartwarming manner by the school staff and students, highlighting the deep bond between teachers and learners. The ceremony took place at the school premises, where teachers, students, and members of the community gathered to participate in the memorable event.

Students, dressed in traditional Sindhi attire, added color and vibrancy to the occasion. Ajrak, Sindhi caps, and cultural symbols were prominently displayed, creating an atmosphere that truly reflected the spirit of Sindhi Culture Day. The event began with a warm welcome for the guests and honorees, followed by a series of cultural activities that captivated the audience.

One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony was when students organized an unconventional farewell for their teachers. A cake was cut amid applause and smiles, symbolizing respect and gratitude for the services rendered by the departing teachers. Innocent students also presented handmade painting gifts, expressing their love and appreciation in a simple yet deeply touching way. These gestures left many attendees visibly moved.

During the ceremony, students actively participated in speeches, tableaus, and short dramas that beautifully portrayed Sindhi culture, traditions, and social values. The performances were well-received by the audience and earned widespread appreciation for their creativity and meaningful messages. Through these activities, students not only showcased their talents but also demonstrated their understanding of cultural identity and social responsibility.

A special highlight of the event was its central theme and slogan: “Education of Girls”. The program strongly emphasized the importance of girls’ education as a foundation for societal development. Several student performances and speeches focused on this theme, stressing that educating girls leads to educated families and a progressive society.

Addressing the gathering, senior teacher Ghulam Mustafa Umrani delivered an inspiring speech in which he underlined the critical role of girls’ education. He stated that no nation or society can achieve real progress without educating its girls. “An educated girl is a guarantee of a strong, stable, and enlightened future,” he said. His words resonated deeply with the audience and were met with applause.

School Headmaster Muhammad Asif Qazi, along with senior teachers Nasir Khan Klooi, Aziz Ahmed Bhatti, Muhammad Majid, and other faculty members, also spoke on the occasion. They praised the efforts of the students and staff for organizing such a meaningful event and emphasized that Sindhi culture is a vital part of our identity. They noted that cultural celebrations like these play a key role in nurturing cultural awareness among the younger generation while simultaneously reinforcing the importance of education.

Speakers further highlighted that schools are not only centers of academic learning but also institutions where values, traditions, and social awareness are shaped. Events like Sindhi Culture Day, they said, help students develop pride in their heritage and encourage unity, tolerance, and mutual respect.

The school administration expressed satisfaction over the successful organization of the event and appreciated the collective efforts of students, teachers, and staff. They acknowledged that such programs strengthen the relationship between teachers and students and create a positive educational environment.

The ceremony concluded on a note of gratitude and hope, with prayers for the success of the departing teachers in their future assignments. The event left a lasting impression on all participants, reinforcing the message that Sindhi culture, education, and social values are deeply interconnected.

Overall, the Sindhi Culture Day celebration at Government Primary School Shaheedapur stood as a shining example of how educational institutions can preserve cultural heritage while promoting progressive ideas such as girls’ education and community development.
