President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari met with Serene Air’s owner and CEO, Dr. Yunchun Yang, in Kashgar, China, where the airline’s future plans for operations in Pakistan were discussed.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Dr. Yang briefed President Zardari on Serene Air’s upcoming projects in Pakistan and also shared details of collaboration with the Pakistan Air Force regarding avionics for the JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.

The meeting was attended by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Pakistan’s ambassador to China, and the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.

During the discussion, President Zardari emphasized that Serene Air should expand its fleet to strengthen its network and connectivity. Dr. Yang assured the President of his commitment to further invest in Serene Air’s operations within Pakistan.

Dr. Yang, who holds a PhD from the University of California, is also the founder and president of a listed semiconductor company in China, which operates subsidiaries in Sweden and the United States.

Serene Air holds the distinction of being the first Chinese private investor in Pakistan’s aviation sector and the first private Pakistani airline to operate flights to Beijing.
