The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the national squad for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, marking the beginning of an important phase in Pakistan’s cricketing calendar. The ODI series against Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi from November 11 to November 15. This series holds strategic significance for Pakistan as it will be used to assess player performance and team combinations ahead of future ICC events. Following the conclusion of the ODI series, Pakistan will participate in a Tri-Nation T20 tournament from November 17 to November 29. The Tri-Nation competition will feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe and will also be hosted in Pakistan, allowing local fans to enjoy back-to-back international cricket on home soil.

One of the most notable decisions in the squad announcement concerns young cricketer Hassan Nawaz. The PCB has confirmed that Hassan Nawaz has been released from both the ODI and T20 squads. The board explained that the decision to release him was taken after careful evaluation of team balance, player conditioning, and long-term development plans. Hassan Nawaz is widely regarded as a promising young batsman with significant potential, but team management appears to believe that he would benefit more from focused training and competitive domestic cricket rather than immediate international participation.

Interestingly, although Hassan Nawaz has been released, the PCB has decided not to name any replacement in the ODI squad.
