Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers and the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly have agreed to continue negotiations over the disqualification reference issue.

According to sources, a significant meeting took place between the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Khan, and opposition members regarding the disqualification reference against 26 PTI members.

The suspended opposition lawmakers met with the Speaker under the leadership of Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bachhar. The meeting lasted for over an hour and covered various issues.

Sources reveal that both sides have agreed to continue dialogue, and a second session of talks is expected to take place later today between the Speaker and the suspended members.

It is worth noting that on June 27, during a session of the Punjab Assembly, opposition lawmakers caused a commotion and damaged assembly property. Following this, the Speaker suspended the membership of 26 opposition members and announced he would send a disqualification reference against them to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
