Lahore (Monday, July 14, 2025) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed to further accelerate the pace of the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” (Own Roof, Own Home) project. She stated that the day a poor person has a roof over their head is the day the state achieves success. “We are making every possible effort, day and night, to ensure that no citizen in Punjab remains without shelter,” she added.

An important meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz regarding the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project, during which she was given a detailed briefing on the current status of the initiative. It was informed that under the program, loans have been provided to 51,911 deserving families. Furthermore, funds amounting to Rs. 60.5 billion have been distributed so far.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that the era of traditional politics has ended and a new era of public service has begun. “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” is not just a project of bricks and walls, but the beginning of a new life for the deserving.

She emphasized that, for the first time in Pakistan’s history, practical steps are being taken on such a large scale for the poor and homeless families. “It is my constant effort to ensure that no citizen in Punjab remains without a roof over their head,” she reiterated.

It is worth mentioning that in May 2025, Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” e-portal. Under the scheme, 300 homes were distributed daily among the homeless in Punjab. By pressing a digital button, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” e-portal, under which 2,000 plots are being allocated in 23 housing schemes across 19 districts of Punjab.
