The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has made it mandatory for all mobile SIM cards to be registered in the name of the actual user, declaring the use of SIMs registered under someone else’s name as illegal. The move is aimed at curbing the misuse of mobile connections and strengthening accountability in the country’s telecom sector.

According to an official statement, the PTA has instructed all mobile phone users to ensure that every SIM card they use is registered in their own name.
