PM approves Sitara-e-Khidmat, Rs10m reward for PIMS fire hero nurse
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the Sitara-e-Khidmat and a cash reward of Rs10 million for nurse Razia Noreen, who risked her life to save a newborn during the recent fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz approved the honours during a meeting to review the interim report of the committee investigating the PIMS fire.
The prime minister praised Razia Noreen for displaying exceptional courage and a strong sense of duty by rushing to rescue the baby moments before the fire caused further destruction.
