Four More Militants Killed as Operation Shaban Continues in Balochistan

QUETTA: Pakistan’s security forces have killed four more militants during the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, according to security sources.

The operation, involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and police, is continuing against militants in the province.

Security sources said the latest operation brought the number of militants killed during Operation Shaban to 71, while the total number of militants killed in security operations since July 5 has reached 109.

The operations are part of an ongoing campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks and restoring security in affected areas of Balochistan.

Meanwhile, protests by the families of police personnel who were killed in terrorist attacks in Ziarat continued in both Quetta and Ziarat.

Despite two rounds of negotiations between the protesters and a government delegation, the talks have failed to produce a breakthrough. The demonstrators are demanding the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the Ziarat attack. Although the government delegation offered assurances, the protesters have refused to end their sit-in.

According to reports, the bodies of eight police personnel remain in a container near the protest site, while other fallen officers have already been laid to rest in the Ziarat and Sanjavi areas.

The protests stem from the deadly militant attack that took place on July 7 in the Mangi area of Ziarat district, where 30 police personnel were killed, making it one of the deadliest attacks on law enforcement in the region in recent years.

Security operations against militant groups continue across the province as authorities seek to prevent further attacks and improve the overall security situation.
