New Entry in National Politics: Election Commission Registers a New Party

Islamabad (Thursday, July 3, 2025) – A new political party has made its entry into the national political arena, as the Election Commission of Pakistan has officially registered it.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has formally registered a new political party named Bahawalpur Awami Huqooq Party (Bahawalpur People’s Rights Party), and a formal notification has been issued in this regard. With this registration, the total number of registered political parties in the country has increased to 167.

According to the statement released by the Election Commission, the intra-party elections of the Bahawalpur Awami Huqooq Party have also been accepted. As per these elections, Muhammad Salman Mehtab has been elected as the party’s president.

With the registration of the Bahawalpur Awami Huqooq Party, a new political voice has emerged for the public issues and rights of South Punjab, especially Bahawalpur. The party is now eligible to participate and play its role in the upcoming general elections.

Following the Election Commission’s approval, the party has now acquired legal and constitutional status to establish its place in national politics.
