YouTube is the world’s most popular video-sharing platform.

Whether you’re a free user or a premium subscriber, YouTube offers a variety of features.

However, a new feature is being introduced on YouTube that many users—especially those who watch YouTube Shorts—may not appreciate.

It goes without saying that YouTube Shorts are short-form videos similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels.

These types of videos are posted in portrait mode, which is easier to view since most people naturally hold their phones that way.

But with YouTube’s new feature, users will now be able to watch Shorts in landscape mode as well.

According to a report by Android Authority, this feature is currently being rolled out to a limited number of users on Android devices.

However, users will have the option to disable it by going to the Accessibility section in Settings.

Once this feature is enabled, whenever your phone rotates, Shorts will also play in landscape mode.

Viewing Shorts in landscape mode may result in a poor experience, as the video will appear in the middle of the screen with blank space on both the left and right sides.

Additionally, all the interface options will shift to the right side in landscape mode.
