The Establishment Division, Islamabad, has revised the nominations for the National Security and War Course (NSWC) 2026-27, a mandatory training programme for the promotion of BPS-20 civil servants to BPS-21, 24NewsHD reported on Friday.

According to an official letter sent to the President of the National Defence University (NDU), the nominations of two officers have been withdrawn, while two others have been added to the course.

The officers whose nominations were withdrawn are DIG South, Pakistan Railways Police, Munir Ahmed Sheikh, and Minister (Economic Affairs) at the Embassy of Pakistan in China, Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry.

The Establishment Division said the nominations were cancelled at the request of the officers’ respective ministries and divisions.

To fill the vacant seats, Deputy Director General, Intelligence Bureau (IB), Mir Wais Niaz, and Deputy Director General, Ministry of Defence, Nadeem Ashraf, have been additionally nominated for the National Security and War Course 2026-27.

The National Security and War Course, conducted by the National Defence University, is a mandatory requirement for eligible Grade-20 officers seeking promotion to Grade-21 in Pakistan’s civil bureaucracy.
