New Steam hit Blackwood allows you to be John Wick
Action Blackwood is a new third-person action game on Steam developed by Attrito and M7 Productions that takes players to 2012 New York, forcing them to live a double life: wandering a quiet suburban DVD rental shop by day and working as a high-end assassin by night.
What is Blackwood?
Blackwood is a neo-noir third-person shooter that combines non-linear action with the mundane reality of small-business life.
The game sees you playing as Anton trying to keep his life peaceful while working in the DVD store by day and pulling off hit contracts around New York City by night.
- Day: The DVD Store Life Simulator Start your day early by running your local DVD shop, watching customers browse the shelves and chatting about this and that.
Manage the store by printing barcode labels and pricing your new releases, restocking DVDs and accommodating customers. Complete house chores during a normal day at home with your domestic cat and use money earned through store sales to buy new clothes for Anton or update the storefront.
- Night: John Wick Inspired Assassin Action Play as Anton and become a top assassin in the Big Apple, trading his store apron for a suit.
Execute hit contracts at iconic New York City locations with an emphasis on stylish gun fu action.
Draw inspiration from John Wick and Max Payne movies by diving onto the ground, sliding past open doorways, squatting and dodging bullets in your contract murders.
Set-piece stage: Washington Square Park, New York City subway.
Motivation & emphasis: Money gained from the store mechanics helps to financially justify the contrived nature of the violence.
Platform: PC (Steam) Developer: Attrito, M7 Productions
Genre: Third-Person Action / Simulation / Tactical Shooter
