A special health screening campaign conducted by the Sindh Health Department has failed to find HIV and Hepatitis cases among 2,132 students screened at religious seminaries across the province. 

According to the SHD spokesperson, the screening campaign was carried out under the Sindh AIDS Control Programm to ensure the health and well-being of madrasa students. 

The department said announcements were made in mosques and seminaries to encourage participation, leading to the successful screening of 2,132 students free of charge.

Officials described the campaign as a successful preventive public health initiative. The Health Department appreciated the cooperation of madrasa administrations, teachers and parents saying their support played a key role in the campaign’s success.

The department ensured the healthy development of children and the early prevention of infectious diseases by taking effective measures. The Sindh government reiterated that providing children with a safe and healthy environment remains one of its top priorities and also the Sindh AIDS Control Program operates free HIV testing and treatment centres across the province.
