The worst devastation unfolded in Reasi district, where a single family suffered catastrophic loss. Seven members of the same household—including five young children—were swept away and killed when their home collapsed under the force of rushing water. Rescue workers struggled to reach the remote area due to washed-out roads and landslides.

Fatalities in Rajgarh

Meanwhile, in Rajgarh tehsil, heavy rains caused further destruction, claiming the lives of four additional residents. The sudden surge of water inundated low-lying areas, leaving villagers with little time to escape.

Widespread Destruction

The overnight downpour caused houses, shops, and small bridges to collapse, cutting off several communities. Roads were blocked by landslides, hampering emergency operations. Witnesses reported scenes of panic as families fled in the dark, carrying whatever belongings they could salvage.
