Islamabad: Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani has dismissed all speculation regarding the replacement or health of President Asif Zardari, calling them mere rumors.

According to Geo News, an anti-corruption court acquitted former Prime Minister and current Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani in 9 cases related to the TDAP corruption case today.

The FIA had registered a total of 26 cases in the TDAP mega corruption scandal, out of which Gillani has now been acquitted in 9.

Speaking on the occasion, Gillani said that the decision to not become part of the government was made by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Pakistan Peoples Party, and the CEC has the authority to reverse that decision if it wishes.

He added that all talk about President Asif Zardari’s replacement or his health are just baseless rumors.
