IMF Agrees Not to Impose Tax on Agriculture: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the government has made it clear to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that it will not allow the imposition of taxes on agriculture.

During a meeting of the federal cabinet, the Prime Minister said that the IMF was informed that Pakistan’s agriculture sector is currently under immense pressure, and therefore, taxing it is not acceptable. He added that the IMF has agreed to Pakistan’s stance.

Commenting on the recent Israeli attack on Iran, the Prime Minister termed it a clear act of aggression and said that Pakistan has condemned the Israeli assault at every level.
