Badin: The Foti Quota Action Committee, Badin District, led by Zawar Gilshad, Amrani Mansoor Korejo, Owais Memon, Rasool Bakhsh Rajo, Fida Shah, Niaz Naeem Koker, Iqrar Ansari, Nabi Bakhsh, Rizwan Azizullah, Ejaz Ali, Mahtab Jamali, and others, staged a protest in front of the National Press Club demanding justice regarding the Foti Quota employment rights.

The protest highlighted that according to the Chief Secretary Sindh’s notification dated December 11, 2025, the Foti Quota jobs were amended to be granted only through court cases. This, according to the protesters, disregards the original Foti Quota law passed on March 28, 1974, under Rule 11-A of the Sindh Assembly, which provided reserved employment rights for Foti candidates.

The protesters stated that the current system is discriminatory, treating the children of Foti employees unfairly and giving them secondary consideration, while other quotas like Shaheed, Disabled, Women, Minority, and MP’s children quotas are fully implemented.

They emphasized that the Supreme Court only discussed Article 25 (merit) in relation to the Foti Quota and did not cancel the quota or issue a directive to end it. The Supreme Court also ordered that previous cases regarding Foti Quota, including the Supreme Court’s October 18, 2024, directive, be applied by the courts in Karachi and Pakistan registries.

Protesters pointed out that High Court decisions in favor of old Foti Quota applicants continue to be ignored, and the Sindh government has rejected ten Supreme Court appeals, yet eligible candidates are still being denied jobs under the Foti Quota, which they claim is unjust.

They demanded immediate action from:

• PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,
• Chief Justice of Pakistan Aminuddin Khan,
• Chief Minister of Sindh, and
• Chief Secretary Sindh

to ensure that Foti Quota jobs are granted to the pending eligible candidates through the High Court, restoring justice and respecting the original quota rights.
