Islamabad: Flour prices have increased further across Pakistan, with the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag reaching as high as Rs2,900, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The bureau’s figures show that Karachi has the highest flour prices in the country, making it the most expensive city for consumers purchasing a 20kg bag of flour.

According to the PBS:

• Karachi: Up to Rs2,900
• Islamabad, Quetta, and Khuzdar: Up to Rs2,800
• Peshawar: Up to Rs2,750
• Rawalpindi: Rs2,747
• Hyderabad: Up to Rs2,740
• Bannu: Up to Rs2,700

The bureau further reported that prices in other cities are as follows:

• Sukkur: Rs2,560
• Larkana: Up to Rs2,500
• Multan: Rs2,420
• Gujranwala: Up to Rs2,400
• Bahawalpur: Up to Rs2,400
• Sialkot: Rs2,333
• Faisalabad: Up to Rs2,300
• Lahore: Up to Rs2,250
• Sargodha: Up to Rs2,240

The latest statistics highlight significant regional variations in flour prices, with consumers in Karachi paying the highest rates, while Lahore and Sargodha remain among the comparatively less expensive major cities.

The continued increase in flour prices is expected to add to the financial burden on households already facing rising food and living costs across the country.
