On the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu (Martyrs’ Day of Jammu), a solemn ceremony was held under the supervision of the General Manager (Admin) of CBL, Colonel (R) Shahid Bashir, to honor the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs who laid down their lives in the historic struggle for freedom. Speaking on the occasion, Colonel (R) Shahid Bashir stated that the brave martyrs of Jammu ignited the flame of freedom with their pure and sacred blood, leaving behind a legacy of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve. He said that the sacrifices rendered in 1947 are one of the most glorious chapters in the history of the Kashmiri freedom movement and will always remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.

Colonel (R) Shahid Bashir emphasized that no nation can move forward without remembering those who sacrificed their lives for its dignity, identity, and freedom. He said that the martyrs of Jammu did not just die; they gave life to an entire movement — a movement rooted in justice, self-respect, and the right of a people to decide their own destiny. “These martyrs,” he noted, “laid the groundwork for the struggle that continues to this day. Their blood is the foundation upon which the dream of a free Kashmir stands.”

While speaking about Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause, Colonel (R) Shahid Bashir stated that the people of Pakistan and the Government of Sindh stand firmly and consistently with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their just struggle for self-determination. He said that this support is not merely political or diplomatic; it is emotional, cultural, religious, and rooted deeply in the shared history and faith of the two peoples. “Kashmiris are not alone,” he said. “Their pain is our pain, and their struggle is our shared mission.”

He further said that the struggle for freedom is never in vain. History bears witness that no power can suppress a nation forever when its people are united in their desire for justice. “The sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will one day bear fruit,” he stated with conviction. “The tyranny imposed on them will end, and the sun of freedom will rise over Kashmir.” He highlighted that the Kashmiri people have faced decades of oppression, curfews, forced disappearances, and human rights violations, yet their determination remains unbroken.

Colonel (R) Shahid Bashir urged the international community, global human rights organizations, and the United Nations to take serious and immediate notice of the ongoing atrocities in Indian-occupied Kashmir. He called on world leaders to uphold the principles of justice, human dignity, and international law. “The world must realize,” he said, “that silence in the face of oppression is complicity. The global community has a moral and ethical responsibility to ensure that the oppressed receive justice.”

He also stressed the need for collective diplomatic efforts to highlight the true situation of occupied Kashmir at global forums. He said that Pakistan has consistently raised the Kashmir issue at international platforms and will continue to advocate for the rights of the Kashmiri people no matter how long the struggle may continue. “Pakistan has never stepped back from its stand, and it never will,” he remarked.

In his message on this occasion, Colonel (R) Shahid Bashir reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiri cause. He said that Pakistan will remain shoulder-to-shoulder with Kashmiris during every trial, difficulty, and moment of need. “Kashmir is not just a piece of land for us,” he said. “It is a matter of faith, identity, and shared heritage. We will not abandon our Kashmiri brothers under any circumstances.”
