The Government of Sindh on Monday announced August 14, 2026 (Friday) as a public holiday across the province.

All government and private institutions, autonomous bodies and local bodies councils will remain closed on August 14.

The Department of Services and General Administration and Coordination (SAG&AD) Department also issued a notification in this regard. The notification was signed by CTC Aqeel Hussain Mako.

Pakistan celebrates Independence Day every year on August 14 to mark independence. However, emergency and essential services will continue operating as usual during the holiday to ensure that critical public services remain available.
