Under the special instructions of SSP Shaheed Benazirabad Shabbir Ahmed Sethar, the technical team of Shaheed Benazirabad Police and CIA Police carried out a joint and effective operation, arresting five members of an inter-provincial mobile phone smuggling gang.

Following SSP Shabbir Ahmed Sethar’s directives, ASP City Madam Darya Tabish held a press conference at the SSP office, accompanied by DSP UCIA Talal Khan and DSP UTC Samir Gul.

According to details, the arrested suspects used to steal mobile phones from local markets and various areas of Sindh, buy stolen phones, and change their IMEI numbers. These phones were then smuggled and sold through agents in Quetta, Peshawar, and even Afghanistan.

IMEI changers, patcher software, and equipment for transporting mobile phones were recovered from the suspects’ possession. Police also recovered more than 25 mobile phones. All members of this network are active across Pakistan.

The main suspect, Shahwaiz, was raided at his home, and his other associates were also arrested, including Asghar Ali Kakad, Usama son of Muhammad Riaz Arain, Arif Hussain son of Ali Dost Magsi, and Imran Ali son of Rehmat Ali Arain. Further legal action is underway against the suspects, and raids are ongoing to apprehend other facilitators and agents involved in the network.

SSP Shaheed Benazirabad praised the professionalism of the police team and stated that such operations will be intensified to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and to eliminate criminal activities.
