Rohri: In view of the ongoing monsoon season and forecasts of further rainfall across Sindh, Divisional Superintendent (DS) Pakistan Railways Sukkur, Farman Ghani, conducted a detailed inspection of the Rohri–Nawabshah railway section using a motor trolley to ensure the safety of railway operations.

Accompanied by divisional officers and technical staff, the DS inspected railway tracks, bridges, level crossings, signaling systems, railway installations, and other vulnerable locations. He also reviewed the condition of the track, ongoing maintenance work, and safety arrangements, while receiving detailed briefings from officials.

Farman Ghani directed officers to maintain continuous monitoring of railway tracks, ensure timely repairs, keep signaling systems fully operational, and take immediate action to address any issues caused by heavy rains. He stressed that passenger safety and uninterrupted train operations remain the division’s top priorities.

He further instructed officials to improve the maintenance, cleanliness, and protection of railway infrastructure and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and efficient rail services during the monsoon season.

Railway experts noted that heavy rainfall can soften the ground beneath tracks, increase pressure on bridges, cause waterlogging, and affect signaling systems. They described the inspection as a timely and proactive measure to minimize operational risks and prevent potential accidents.
