Sukkur (By Zulfiqar Solangi): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sukkur City President and Deputy Mayor of Sukkur, Dr. Arshad Mughal, visited the riverine area of Saeedabad to review the situation in view of possible flooding and to meet with local residents.

During his visit, Dr. Mughal interacted with the community, listened to their concerns, and assured them that the Sindh Government stands firmly with the people and will not leave anyone alone in this critical time.

Relief Measures for Affected Families

Dr. Mughal informed the residents that the Sindh Government has already designated safe locations where flood-affected families will be shifted immediately if the water level rises. To ensure proper healthcare, mobile medical camps have been established at these relief sites.

“These camps are fully equipped,” he explained, adding that experienced doctors, paramedical staff, and essential medicines are available so that no one faces difficulty in receiving timely medical care.

Protecting Livestock and Farmers

Understanding the importance of livestock for local livelihoods, Dr. Mughal said that the government has also set up separate livestock camps. Vaccination drives are already underway to protect animals from diseases during the flood season.

He emphasized that farmers and cattle owners should not feel worried, as all necessary steps have been taken to secure both human lives and livestock.

Preparedness for Evacuations

Highlighting the need for quick rescue operations, Dr. Mughal shared that boats have been arranged in advance. In case the water level rises, these boats will be used to immediately evacuate people from low-lying areas to the designated safe sites.

“The people of the region should not panic,” he assured. “The Sindh Government has finalized all possible arrangements. Any family affected by the flood will be provided with complete facilities by the government. With collective prayers and precautions, we hope this water will pass peacefully.”

Dr. Mughal underlined that the PPP and Sindh Government have always worked with the spirit of public service. He stressed that in difficult times like these, every possible resource is being mobilized to protect the lives and property of citizens.

“This is not the time for politics,” he said firmly. “This is the time for service. The PPP leadership and the Sindh Government are with their people in every challenging moment. It is our duty to ensure that every citizen remains safe.”
