A tragic incident occurred in Punjab’s Hafizabad district, where the roof of a private tuition center in Pindi Bhattian collapsed, killing seven people, including five children and a female teacher.

According to reports, the accident took place in the Sukheke Mandi area of Mohalla Farooq-e-Azam, where a woman and her son were conducting tuition classes at their home. During the session, the roof suddenly gave way, trapping the teacher and several children under the debris.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene immediately, pulling victims from the rubble and rushing them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Despite swift rescue operations, the female teacher, her son, and five students lost their lives.

District Police Officer (DPO) Hafizabad, Atif Nazir, also reached the site and oversaw relief efforts. He instructed rescue officials to ensure no delay in clearing debris and providing medical treatment to the injured. Expressing grief over the loss of lives, he extended condolences to the families of the deceased.

Rescue sources confirmed that initially three children were reported dead. However, as medical treatment progressed, more injured victims succumbed to their wounds, raising the death toll to seven.

The deceased include:

• Sarwar Bibi (60 years old)
• Abdul Rehman (9 years old)
• Umar (5 years old)
• Rohan (4 years old)
• Rehan (8 years old)
  along with the female teacher and her son.

The heartbreaking incident has shocked the local community, highlighting once again the urgent need for structural safety checks in private institutions and residential buildings being used for educational purposes. Authorities are expected to conduct an inquiry into the cause of the collapse.
