Hyderabad, June 23, 2026: In preparation for the observance of the 7th of Muharram, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar conducted a comprehensive inspection of security arrangements and procession routes associated with traditional religious gatherings in the city. The visit was aimed at ensuring foolproof security measures and maintaining peace and order during the holy month of Muharram.

According to a press release issued by the District Police Hyderabad spokesperson, SSP Shahzaib Chachar personally reviewed the routes of the historic and traditional religious processions known locally as Parh organized by various religious groups. The inspection was carried out in coordination with senior police officers and organizers of the events to ensure all security concerns were adequately addressed before the commencement of the gatherings.

The security review was attended by the relevant Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), organizers of religious assemblies and processions, as well as police officers and personnel responsible for implementing the security plan. During the visit, the SSP closely examined multiple locations and routes that will be used by participants and mourners during the 7th Muharram observances.

Among the key areas inspected were Faqeer Ka Parh, Gul Shah Bukhari, Pakistani Chowk, Golden Imambargah, and various routes in Tando Agha, where traditional religious processions and gatherings are scheduled to take place under the auspices of Anjuman Safeena Hussaini. These routes hold historical and religious significance and attract large numbers of participants every year during Muharram.

During the detailed inspection, SSP Hyderabad assessed existing security arrangements and issued necessary instructions to field officers. He emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of all mourners and participants throughout the Muharram period.

The SSP directed police officials to make full use of all available resources to prevent any untoward incident and to respond promptly to any security challenge. He stressed that protecting the lives and property of citizens, particularly those participating in religious activities, remains a top priority for Hyderabad Police.

Officials stated that under the leadership of SSP Shahzaib Chachar, a comprehensive and foolproof security plan has been finalized for the 7th Muharram processions and traditional gatherings. The security strategy includes multiple layers of monitoring, surveillance, and deployment of personnel across sensitive areas.

As part of the plan, all procession routes and gathering points will be continuously monitored through closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to ensure real-time surveillance. Police authorities will closely observe crowd movement and any suspicious activity to enable immediate response when required.

In addition to technological surveillance, a substantial deployment of police personnel has been arranged. The security plan includes mobile patrol units, foot patrol teams, quick response personnel, and plainclothes officers who will remain deployed along the routes and at important locations. The SSP also interacted with organizers of the religious processions and gatherings, discussing logistical and security-related matters.
