According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, a staggering 98 Palestinians were martyred in a single day, while over a thousand others sustained injuries. Among those killed were 13 people who had gathered in hope of receiving humanitarian aid, only to become targets of Israeli firepower.

Since the early hours of the day, the Israeli military has intensified its operations in the besieged Gaza Strip, particularly in densely populated areas where displaced families have taken shelter. Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble, as airstrikes and artillery shelling show no signs of abating. The death toll continues to rise as rescue operations remain severely hindered due to the ongoing attacks and destruction of infrastructure.

The Ministry of Health reported that, since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of 60,430 Palestinians, with at least 148,722 others injured. With this, the number of Palestinians who have died due to starvation has reached 169, according to Arab media sources. Aid agencies and human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that Gaza is on the brink of a man-made famine, largely due to the Israeli blockade and deliberate targeting of food supply chains.

International humanitarian groups have described the situation as catastrophic, accusing Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war, a clear violation of international humanitarian law. Repeated calls for a ceasefire and unfettered humanitarian access have been ignored, as Israel continues to link any pause in hostilities to the release of hostages allegedly held by Hamas.

Hospitals are operating far beyond capacity, with many medical centers forced to turn away patients due to shortages of medicine, staff, and electricity.

The United Nations, along with international aid organizations such as the Red Crescent and Doctors Without Borders, has raised alarms over the scale of suffering. Yet, despite global outcry, diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire have repeatedly failed. Western powers remain divided, with some continuing to provide military and political support to Israel, while others urge restraint and the opening of humanitarian corridors.

As the war enters its tenth month, Gaza has effectively become an open-air graveyard, where hope is fading faster than lives. The siege, coupled with relentless bombings and systemic deprivation, is pushing the region towards a humanitarian collapse of historic proportions.
